Peak fall foliage on Mount Lafayette - White Mountains, New Hampshire

In the midst of a storm, I visited a popular overlook in Lincoln to see if I could capture the scene of Mount Lafayette with a foreground of prime New England fall foliage. It was one of the most technically difficult photographs I've ever attempted, due to strong winds and low light. With some careful work and lots of determination, I completed the frames necessary to create a sharp and colorful image. My goal for this panorama was to capture the full range of foliage colors common to the White Mountains, but with more drama than typically depicted in photographs.
