Lava fields - Big Island, Hawai'i

Walking through the lava fields along Saddle Road in Hawai'i, I encountered this strange scene - a single grassy hill surrounded by a ledge of black lava rock, eerily silent except for the howls of dogs in the distance.  The receding hurricane storm clouds added a perfect amount of texture and drama to the sky.
