Taughannock Falls - Trumansburg, New York

For my first published photograph of 2024, I ventured to Taughannock Falls, just north of Ithaca, NY.  It is hard to appreciate the grandeur of this waterfall from looking at images online - it is taller than any of the plunges that make up Niagra Falls.  Many photographers have captured this scene from the overlook which is especially beautiful in autumn.  However, visiting in the early spring prior to the trees growing their foliage, I envisioned a monochromatic scene that emphasized the power and speed of the water amidst nearly 400ft high cliff walls.  Hiking in and out of the gorge was just an added reward to this magical scene.
